EXCURSIONS FROM NAIROBI

NAIROBI CITY TOUR - 3 HOURS (ITSX 001)

The tour covers the modern city center, the colorful market, Parliament, the Railway museum and the renowned National Museum where there are spellbinding displays of the early man, tribal regalia and flora and fauna of Kenya. A visit to the adjacent snake park is also included. The tour returns to the city center in time for lunch.

Safari Walk

NAIROBI NATIONAL PARK - 4 HOURS (ITSX 003)

This unique wildlife sanctuary is just a few kilometers from Nairobi’s bustling city center. Despite Its proximity, over 50 species of mammals can be found there, including four of the Big Five. The tour also includes a visit to the Animal orphanage at the park gate. The tour returns to the city center by sundown.

KAREN BLIXEN MUSEUM AND GIRAFFE CENTRE - 3 HOURS (ITSX 005)

Drive towards the Ngong Hills and pass the Ngong village to the Karen Blixen Museum, which for many years was her home. Later proceed to the Giraffe Center to see and feed the famous Rothschild Giraffe and her family.

LUNCH AND DINNER - CARNIVORE EXPERIENCE - 3 HOURS (ITSX 007)
Guaranteed daily at 12.30p.m and 7.00 p.m.

Nairobi has many restaurants offering a variety of cuisines. We recommend a dinner or lunch at the Carnivore, which is famous for its succulent steaks and barbecue dishes as an excellent complement to a holiday in Kenya, especially as a welcome, or farewell dinner. The price includes transfers to and from Nairobi or the airport.

BOMAS OF KENYA - 3 HOURS (ITSX 009)

A Boma is a homestead and just a few kilometers from the city center, numerous homesteads reflecting Kenya’s cocktail of cultures have been faithfully recreated for visitors to see traditional village life. But the greatest excitement during the afternoon visit is the display of traditional dancing, music and song performed in a splendid arena. And if you feel you can test your bones with this truly African thing, join the dance and proof yourself just as good.

LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK - FULL DAY (ITSX 011)

Cheetah

Lake Nakuru lies in the volcano strewn Rift Valley, one of a chain of 8 lakes, which stretch the length of Kenya from Tanzania to Ethiopia. The 160km drive from Nairobi passes through highland farms of the Kikuyu people before descending into the dramatic Rift valley. Lunch is taken in the park and is followed by an extensive tour of which focuses on the bewildering spectacle of a million flamingoes, and also seeks out the large variety of wildlife with which the park abounds. On the return journey to Nairobi a stop is made at Lake Naivasha for tea among the fever trees, where bird watchers will delight in fantastic array of bird life.
